Coalition releases new sex-ed guidelines

um... to 2nd Graders...
that's 7 yr olds! How "age appropriate" is that we ask? Maybe in your
kid's school... but I'm not going to stand for it in mine!!!
I place the blame for failed
educational policies squarely in the Obama administration... my hats off to them... NOT!!! They all have
missed the philosophical point here. Schools are NOT parents! We should
not use public policy (and "non-binding translates to policy in
practice) as a band-aid to "fix" a problem while ignoring the cause...
that is how benign governments grow out of control and become tyranny
personified... Parents need to be parents and take responsibility for
their own families. If you give them the opportunity they will do just
that... the issue is that the government needs to get out of our
bedrooms and our homes. The problem is that we have created a welfare
system among the lower classes of our society where we as a community
take responsibility as a community for peeps behaviors. They expect the
community to feed them, house them, find work for them and now to run
their families for them... this catch-22 is fundamentally flawed. As
parents you should know this! Do everything for your kid and run their
lives for them and they become nothing- and eventually they grow to hate
you... The same thing works in society. No I stand my ground. In my
community of friends most parents send their kids to private school
(where a paid tuition guarantees a good education) or they home school
their kids- even though the high taxes insure fairly well financed
public schools who have the money to pay dedicated teachers. We go to
church on Sundays and keep our kids involved in sports and wholesome
activities. We step up to the plate as parents and rearrange our lives
around raising our kids... To tell you the truth most could care less
about what happens in an inner-city public schools beyond something to
chat about at lunch... That there is reality. But public policy-
non-binding or otherwise- created by the government in Washington, their
agencies, advisory groups or various political minions has a historical
tendency to become the law of the land by well-meaning politicians who
often need a broader spectrum of voters to stay in office... that there
is a problem. Politically these people you are trying to "help" by
fettering them with undue laws and taking away their liberty, initiative
and sense of self worth as citizens (and parents) will grow to hate you
and they will react historically in unintended ways... as parents we
should know that a child has to fall down, to fail and make mistakes on
their own to learn, grow and become a better person... we need to treat
our communities the same way. Each community has the right to set it's
own policies and guidelines without being dictated by National
policies... Ok I do agree that the constitution does allow for a
National government to make public policies but only to those things
that the constitution talks about... SEX-ED is not specified in the
constitution as an area for national policies, guidelines or otherwise.
My community- a God fearing upper middle-class community of good people-
will do as it deems right. When election time come we will look for
what is best for our families and cast our votes. We do not need or want
these policies and frankly do not have to subject our kids to them...
But philosophically this new policy like other public educational
directives designed to replace parents, families & God from their
rightful places is wrong... and as a nation, it is simply bad
parenting...
